Privacy Policy
Yummii is built local-first: without an account, your data never leaves your device. Below is what happens when you do create an account.
Last updated: 28 September 2026
1. Controller
Goderis, Jerome, Charlottalei 31, 2930 Brasschaat, België, KBO BE 1012.329.414, is responsible for processing your personal data. Send privacy questions to hello@yummii.app.
2. Without an account
If you use Yummii without an account, your recipes, lists and plans are stored locally on your device only. We do not receive that data.
3. What we process with an account
Account data: your email address or the identifier Apple provides through Sign in with Apple.
Profile data you choose to add, such as username, display name and profile photo.
Your content: recipes, ingredients, photos, grocery lists and meal plans.
Social data: who you follow and who follows you, who you share a shopping list with, the dinners you take part in and what you bring, and who you have blocked.
Dietary wishes you give for a dinner. This is voluntary. If you mention an allergy or medical reason, that is health data: you provide it yourself, explicitly for that dinner, and you can clear it at any time.
Reports: if you report someone, we keep who reported, who was reported, the reason and your explanation.
Technical data needed for syncing and security, such as change timestamps and error reports.
4. Why and on what basis
To provide the service (sync, backup, following, sharing and dinners): performance of the contract.
Dietary wishes with a health reason: your explicit consent, which you withdraw by clearing the wish.
To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, including handling reports and blocks: legitimate interest.
To send you the newsletter: your consent, which you withdraw with the link at the bottom of every email.
To answer a message sent through the contact form: legitimate interest.
5. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored with Supabase, in Paris, within the EU. We use these processors: Supabase (hosting, database and login), Apple (Sign in with Apple) and Resend for the newsletter, the contact form and verification emails.
We don't sell your data and don't use it for advertising.
6. Newsletter and contact
If you subscribe to the newsletter we keep your email address, whether you are a student, the language of the page and when you subscribed. You can unsubscribe with the link at the bottom of every email; your row stays with the date you unsubscribed, so we can show you once gave consent and you are not accidentally re-subscribed.
If you send a message through the contact form we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply.
7. Sharing with others
Your recipes are private. Others don't see them, unless you bring something to a dinner and link a recipe to it: then the other guests see that recipe's title and short description.
If you choose a username, other users can find you by it and see your username, display name and profile photo. They never see your email address or your preferences.
If you share a shopping list, its members see the items on it and your name and profile photo. If you join a dinner, the other guests see your name, profile photo, dietary wish and what you bring.
If you block someone, you no longer find or follow each other; that person is not notified. We review reports within 24 hours.
8. Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. A dinner and its dietary wishes disappear when the host cancels it or when you leave. If you delete your account, we immediately erase your data, your photos and your profile photo. We keep no separate backups: what is erased is gone. Reports of abuse are kept until they are handled, and at most one year after that.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object. Send your request to hello@yummii.app.
If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
